Nothingness

It's the light shining through the window into a dark room It’s nothing, just the sun Or maybe it’s the way you breathe After opening your eyes It’s nothing, it happens every day It could be the heart beat that you feel After a shock It’s nothing, because I don’t have to think about it What if In that dark room there was a lonely boy whose mother was dead and whose father beat him and he decided that light was a reason not to end his life And those deep breathes you hear are those of someone who almost drowned in the middle of your home town pond Of course that heart beat Is yours You almost died But a doctor saved you in your last seconds Tell me what nothing is And I will give you a reason to call it something
