Noughts and Crosses

The bitter fires in his eyes

And his voice like sinister velvet

Beckon her from across the room

She is chaos condensed
At the sound of her name, her being stirs
Her stormy eyes flash and she slithers over

No more words escape his lips
He speaks through the the slight furrow of his brow
And the menacing gleam in his eye

She is nebulous clouds and cosmic stars
The entropy of her essence envelops him
She smiles with a mouth of treacherous teeth

The two begin a poisonous waltz
This weary rivalry extends on into time
Its roots grow deeper and thicken with age

The overlapping paths of two planets in orbit
The heartstrings of two lovers tangled together
The lives of two enemies wrapped around one another
