November

I liked to watch you in the frozen air November days we sat on cliffs and loved Singing to Wolf Parade we had no cares Your skin was precious and warm like a glove You’re that hipster beyond recognition You wrote your name and drew a heart around But I could see straight through your ambitions Nonetheless you could make my cold heart pound Outstretched like the petals of a lily You contemplated giving up your smite In your eyes was vulnerability You fought your demons with all of your might One day you will be laid to rest, to die Maybe you’ll think of me, break down and cry
