Now in Death

Death, so different than the life I once had,

Everyone here is the same, everyone fits in.

There is no reason to be jealous, angry, or sad.

No one makes any mistakes, no one commits any sin.

There is no more hardship, there is no more strife.

We watch the earth below, as our loved ones persist

In their individual continuing circles of life

Their futures concealed to them by uncertainty’s mist.

But to us the future is apparent and clear,

And we long to intervene, to alter their fate

But reach them we cannot, so we cannot steer

The choices they choose will be their own weight.

All that is left is hope, not for us but those still living,

That they might evade the fall, as Adam fell,

That they might escape death’s true sting,

And not join us down in the depths of hell.
