Now I Know My Worth

Thank you for showing me what I truly deserve

Loved, worthy, and forgiven

Absolutely not

Unloveable, unworthy, and unforgivable

Because of him I now know my place

A real relationship has kindness, love, and trust.

That is not at all true.

Hateful words, bruises, and fear.

This is what a relationship is.

I’ve only received brutal honesty, and reminders of how little my worth is.

That is what a boyfriend is for, right?

I’ve never been treated this way before, and this is all new to me.

He buys me gifts, takes me to dinner, and makes me feel nothing short of loved.

But he would never do that.

I have been pushed, hit, and called mean names.

That sounds more like him.

Caring, loving, compassionate, and beautiful, that is how he sees me.

No not that but,

Embarrasing, ugly, and stupid, that is who I am.

He makes me see my worth

He has changed me

By taking advantage of my brokeness.
