Now I'm freefalling

     My heart racing,

my vision blurring,

my body swimming in circles.

I know what this is- but why now?

I had a great day, but you're still here,

haunting me.

You have me bound like skin to tissue,

an addict to his habit, a clarinet to its reed.

     But I don't hate you.

Rather, I love you. And I know you love me.

I do have a question though, babe......

"Do you love me for me?"

Do you love how I contrast

so greatly from you?

Do you love the way my laugh gasps

when I laugh hard?

Do you love, that despite the fact that I am

not a Christian, I respect you and your beliefs?

Finally, do you, love the way that I still love

you despite the fact I don't agree with you?

I've never described myself as an addict.

But honestly.....

I now think that I might be.
