Now I’m Ready

When I was young

Life was fun

Innocent and free

But now I’m old

To life I fold

And stress has come to me

But I will not go quietly

Nor shall I be depressed

For my spirit has matured as well

Along my noble quest

As I have grown

So has my will

And I am more mature

It took some time

To make the climb

But now I’m there for sure

I think it took some failure

To tell me how to act

And also some frustration

Quite serious at that

High school was

the biggest change

It helped me see the way

Through nights of pain

and studying

I now know what to say

I’m glad it was so difficult

It shaped who I am now

And I will keep those lessons close

From school they did endow
