Numb

I’m numb to this feeling,

I’m cold to my emotions,

My heart is like a stone of ice,

I’m numb to my depression,

I can barely feel anxiety’s presence,

I’m numb to my own existence,

I don’t feel like I’m alive,

I’ve grown so used

To feeling this way,

That I shut it out

And continue

Through this dark mist

Of cold numbness.

I have been writing poetry for 5 years now and I have a collection of over 600 original poems I've made. I submitted a poem to Appelley Publishing and was published in the 2018 addition of their poetry book. I love to read and write, and I have a cat and a hamster.
