Numb

Immune to love immune to pain

Feelings, thoughts unfelt, in vain

Her eyes aligned to vacancy

Trapped in remains of broken dreams

A cold facade, call her a fraud

But if only you could see,

that beyond the rugged, damaged walls

lies the soul of one whose heart can plea

That once, just once, for when she falls

she'll have someone to call upon

but she must be numb she knows it well,

for its all she can do to bear on
