Numb
I close my eyes. Stumbling, I fall to the ground, hearing it thump beneath I cannot feel. Exposed am I to what is becoming of me, yet I am unaware of the need to continue. I open my eyes. I claw at the ground in an attempt to rise myself from it, for this is what I believe I am supposed to do, not something that I believe I should do. Scratching the dirt, the cold breaths through me. I look up to an empty forest, feeling pressured to continue although I see no reason to. Eyes closing once more, I hear the breeze brush its way through the trees, I smell the cold air around me, I taste the blood in my mouth, but I do not feel.
