Numb

My body and mind have become numb.

I walk around my high school halls, on the same path, everyday.

We go to school, sit in chairs, complain that we're tired, and go back home.

When did this become routine.

Walking down the hallways in silence now makes me laugh.

Girls talking about boys and boys talking about girls has no innocence anymore.

When did this become normal.

Where is the love in this hateful world and where is my innocence?

Who decided they had the authority to judge me and break me down.

I wore a dress with flowers on it and as I looked out the window, dead flowers covered the ground.

I turn off my radio when I drive home.

When did silence become the loudest thing in my day.

As I pull into my driveway, I turn off my car and toss my keys into my backpack.

I grab my computer and check my email, Facebook, and Twitter.

More hate.

I close my computer.

I have become numb.

I have become silent.
