Number 7

Dear Number 7,

You're the one that keeps me up at night

But yet

I still wish I was falling asleep

Next to you

I used to think of you

Before bed

And when I woke in the morning

But even then

I never crossed your thoughts

I thought maybe you were afraid

Of who you might be

But then

Who am I to know

What would have been

Your most deeply guarded secret

I know that your family

Is conservative

Just like mine

But

We could have struggled together

I thought there was Something there

I guess I was wrong

Once again

My judgement was clouded

By

Feelings and uncertainty

A man's worst enemies

My closest friends

I wish my heart

Would grow cold

But yet

It is warm

Kind regards,

No one
