Numbers

All my life,

I've seen numbers.

Everything is a number,

Everything is a digit.

Time is a number of relativity.

Space is a number of distance.

All things are numbers.

Emotions are numbers, too.

On a scale of 1 to 10,

How would you rate your pain,

Your anger,

Your happiness,

Your sadness.

Everything in my life has been based on numbers,

How many of these can I get done in this number of time,

How fast can I cover the distance from A to B,

Numbers,

How bad do I feel,

How happy am I,

How sad am I,

Numbers.

My life was full of numbers,

Digits,

Binary,

All things around me,

I thought was only science, math, and technology.

Yet I found one thing I couldn't put on a scale.

Joy of another's prescence,

Yet pain in the face of them as well.

I found love can't be categorized as a number.

Love is a mix of feelings.

It's pain, happiness, sadness, frustration, confusion, and joy.

All of those before could be rated,

But how,

In what way,

Can one equate all at once as a general number?

The average is irrational,

The median,

The sum,

The difference,

All of it.

Numbers were my life,

Numbers were all I knew,

But now,

I know something new.
