Numbers Will Tell
One word can change everything.
One step at a time they say.
One lie digs a hole deeper than fictionally fathomable.
One good laugh is a medicine that heals well.
Two people together in a hot-and-ready relationship, only this time it was to go.
Two similar shoes that journey with you everywhere.
Two eyes to see the world as it changes.
Two ears to hear every compliment that flies around.
Three or more gathered together in Jesus name, He is there in the midst.
Three boys in a single mother household.
Four of us make a happy family.
Five fingers to count my true best friends.
Six hour work days, he typical college student work day.
Seven days that I must toil in the world to make ends meet.
Eight to a group in the children's ministry.
Nine dollar meals to keep hearty and healthy.
Ten, or more people that give me ride to work
Because I don't have one car
With four wheels
To take me one mile at a time to work
So I can make nine dollars an hour
At a five star retail store.
Two hands that have held
Thousands of smelly, strapped shoes.
A pair of two, a left and a right.
On top of the work that I do at that retail store,
I take fifteen hours of college classes.
That all costs about one thousand one hundred dollars.
That was a doozy.
You know, this is my life as of this moment.
With it being crazy busy,
My hair getting really frizzy,
And me feeling extremely dizzy,
I still stand tall.
Through the fall and into winter,
There was a splinter that has been stuck in me for days.
I see the brown of the wood, but it will come out when it's ready,
Or so I thought.
It hurts, and when people get too close
It gets even worse.
The hearse is going to be driving my porcelain broken body.
I'm fragile.
Used to be sexily strong, but someone found my weakness.
I feel worth so much less.
God bless.
When will I let go of the one thing that hurts the hundreds
Of relationships that I begin to make.
Can't there be one year when the one thing can disappear?
If it happened, what would I want to change about my life to last that one year?
Would it be worth it to go one year normal,
Then live the next eighty back in torture.
My future must be bright.
It's getting really dark right now.
Thousands of days ahead,
One day I will see the light at the end of this life long tunnel.
I want to cuddle,
Jump in puddles,
Sit on the swings,
Dance uncontrollably,
With someone who loves ME!
I could have the one love of my life,
But the one thing that holds me back happened at the age of two
By a boy of fifteen who had a slender silhouette standing with lustful eyes.
He was a close feller.
Could almost call him family.
That would be why he had one job to give this two-year-old a bath.
He was my step brother or half brother, I forget.
According to dad, we are all family even if we have different moms.
Make that 4 different women.
One dad.
Make that seven children from one man.
Did I mention from four different women?
Out of all seven there is one girl.
Then one of those six boys that my father regretfully had,
Well he took a chance that had perfect circumstances.
Dad was sleeping for hours on end, living in a conceded cavern,
And not one other person was home...yet.
In seconds, which felt like hours, my innocence was gone.
Then, as one scared mom who came home
to the monstrosity happening in the bathroom to her
Two-year-old boy,
She pleaded for my father to punish the one other son.
About now, you would say he took my side because I was a baby.
I was helpless,
And he was off duty taking a quick snooze, but no.
He refused to think his manly, touchy-feels boy would do anything like that.
This would have probably caused me to go into a same-sex marriage swirl.
In it you see two different colors, but it's abstract, so it's pretty.
Right?
No! It's wrong,
And that is how I came to this
Five-star job
Working around twenty to thirty hours to make ends meet
To go to one leadership college
Two states away from home
To truly meet and being a relation with
The three in one,
Holy Son of God.
All one billion of my sins are now gone.
But I'm still a human with five fingers on my hand,
Four family members, including myself that make life fun,
One of three sons,
With two eyes and ears,
To a single mom.
What are those odds,
One in a billion.
Numbers tell a lot.
They have powers to shed light on the harsh reality.
Make your heart steady.
Don't get over run by emotions or false judgment.
You never know where someone has been.
