A Nurse's Thoughts

Hello, Mr. Jones This is the nurse calling today You may want to visit your mother soon… You see She hasn't been doing well She’s been declining for some time now All of which we've been telling you But still you can’t find the time Now… This is the same mother Who gave birth to you This is the same mother Who sheltered you This is the same mother Who supported your dreams And allowed you to become The man you are today While you were pursuing your happiness She was working overtime To make sure you didn't go without She was working overtime So you could spend time with friends She was working overtime To put you through college As your mother, she wanted what was best For you Never putting herself first Because your happiness is her happiness And now she’s working overtime To stay alive Hoping one day you’ll come to visit So she can tell you how proud you make her How you’re the son she always wanted So she can tell you how much she loves you... Hello, Mr. Jones This is the nurse calling today You may want to visit your mother soon She just hasn’t been doing very well And I know she would enjoy your visit.
