O brother

O BROTHER
In the Road as broaden wide
I hear people’s smiles and happiness inside,
It’s been a rough long journey but am finally here.
The joy we long search for is just within an eyes stare.
It took a long time to paint the picture but I’m glad you see it clear.
O’ brother my! My brother!

The blood you shed is something we’ve already seen in fear,
as you see  the darkness appear,
in that darkened casket you lay.
From today till every day and night in that cold place you lay,
May his grace keep you safe and happy for the remainder of your stay.
I know not what tomorrow holds but strength and love shall I find as I pray.
O brother! O’brother

As they mention your name,
I know you left with respect and not shame,
That you brought purpose in their lives like a preacher’s fame.
In Gods capable hands may you remain.
Till we meet and drink whisky and rye.
Scold you I would to do, but I have not the hurtful words nor do I want to lie.
I would love to sulk and cry but the river within is dry.
