O Estevan, O Estevan; My Kitchen Commander

O Estevan, O Estevan the time has nearly come,

When the friend you taught will have her teaching done.

A kitchen seemed no place for life lessons to evolve,

And yet it was there she found some resolve

Among the pots and pans

You taught that girl what it meant to stand

Stay strong and stubborn girl for you don’t know what this life holds

No matter what they tell you, don’t conform to their molds.

Work hard he said, and stay determined,

But watch out the world hates those who consider themselves learned.

Continue on the path of life

With your saviour Jesus Christ,

But watch out once more for your head has been priced.

This world toward Christian things is cold

No matter what they tell you, don’t conform to their molds.

O Estevan, O Estevan how fast time does pass

For upon the arrival of fall I must go to class,

But I first I want to thank you, for all you’ve done for me

For all the short and long talks, and for never letting me go easy

Thanks for pushing me to be the very best I could

And for telling me to go faster when we both knew I should

No matter what they tell me, I’m standing here to say

Tempt me in whatever way you can. This is where I stay.
