O Mommy
O Mommy
O Mommy
I was counted out, you was counted out.
16 and pregnant, nothing to be proud of
You loved me, when I couldn’t even love me
When I cried, you dried my tears
When I was scared, you wiped away my fears
It must have been scary being pregnant so young, not knowing how to raise a child
We been though the trenches together, homeless, jobless, you name it
Not once have you gave up, not once have you stopped being a mother
You know me better then I know myself,
Even with your medical problems, you taught me to be tough
You taught me how to stand up tall. Always there to pick me when I would fall.
We’ve had to sleep on the floor together, had our lights out, no hot water
So happy I got to live those moments, made me become more humble then ever
Even when I would put you though stress, you was always there to clean up my mess
You’re my best friend, the person who I tell everything to first
I thank God for you everyday
Such a beautiful person inside and out
You would give your last dollar to feed me and my sister
You accepted me for who I am, even when I hated who I was
When I get this degree, I’m going to give you the world
You went without, just so we wouldn’t have to
You raised queens, and taught us to have self-respect
Taught me to have courage, hope, how to love
O how did I get so lucky?
O how could I one day be half the mother that you are?
O how could I love anyone more then you?
A beautiful Taurus
Thanks for your wisdom, tough love, being there for me
O mommy
