O Mother, My Mother

O mother, My mother

I’m am your Light and you are mine.

You taught me to walk and run,

To speak and listen,

And to love and how to be loved.

You taught me to be brave and confident,

To be independent and strong,

And to stick to my beliefs and go after what I want.

For these reasons and more are why you are my mentor.

So I thank you for everything,

Thank you for loving and protecting me,

For believing and trusting in me,

And most of all guiding and teaching me.

My mentor, my best friend,

O mother, My mother
