O, My Father!

O, My Father!

The late nights your work brings

To feed a family of four

Seems to take the coil from your wrought-out springs.

O, My Father!

Your toil, your labor, all you have done for me

Screams in my mind,

"Why can't I do for you what you've sacrificed for me!"

O, My Father!

Your efforts are the epitome of the American Dream

I will work just as half as much

To give your proud smile a proper gleam!
