O Teddy bear you are
O Teddy bear you are so plush
your small pink nose and dark chocolate fur
have helped me sleep from dawn to dusk.
At lunch time we drink tea,
At night we take a bath,
But tomorrow you are no longer Teddy, just a bear.
I speed my bike down the street as fast as the wheels go
sixteen is an age for care free afternoons
and eating pizza by the box
I have my first heart break,
I cheer at my first game,
But tomorrow I am no longer youthful.
I watch my pride and joy take her first steps
she stumbles and lands with a thud
her tears met with a familiar friend.
Teddy with his plush tummy and,
Teddy being held tightly,
And I look forward to tomorrow.
