O What to do?

To go to college or not to go to college…that is the question? The time has come to decide, As the options lay in my hands, awaiting, Waiting for me to decide, I started to imagine what it would be like, For what would I major in, By starting my adult life in debt or to have a job that I may dislike for the rest of my life, Not knowing where I would end up, But who knows, right? Maybe I’ll be living in a ditch or a mansion, Hitchhiking place to place, bathing in streams, But some things in this world we can’t change, Only if I could understand, Which choice would lead me to success? Maybe I should just join the military, Yep that’s it; I’ll join the army, I must pack my necessities and leave everything else behind, Leaving as me and coming back as a killing machine, Protecting our nation for you and me, Therefore, I shall be faced with more challenges, Not being home on the holidays to spend time with my family and friends, To see what friends, My combat buddies or my high school friends, Who all went off to college, Only to wish that life would be so kind to me, Not only for me but for my combat buddies as well, Only if I could come and go as I please, not wake up as the sun rises, or face frustration 24/7, I would be fine, For who would want to face war when they could just hear the stories through the news, But no, I was trained to fight in the battle field, And that’s what I must do, Defending our country so your life at home will be easier, But that’s only a lie, Noting in life is easy, No matter how easy you say it is, My thoughts don’t make sense to me, Though instead I place myself in a battle field, All ready to fight, But before a blink of an eye, I hear a shot, And next thing you know that shot lead to a rain storm of bullets, Flying in all directions, Though as I was once told, Those bullets start flying there will be no place safe, So lay low and pray to god, That one day you will return home just like you left, And hug all those loved ones, Like you will never hug them before, But no matter what some things in life just don’t make sense, Everything is just a blur to me at this moment, But here in the end I’m left here standing, Deciding on whether or not I want to go to college
