An Oak Tree

An Oak Tree.  ©2013

An oak tree

Outside my window

Stretching towards the sky

A sky grim and bright

Warm noises

People chattering

Each voice yelling louder

Cries to drown the night

Dim streetlight

Silent sentry post

Baring the winter air

Carving soulless paths

NightRiver

I don't often write, but when I do... it's my heart bleeding onto paper.
