Obilvion

To feel, to want,

Emotions that simply cannot be bought.

She looks into the mirror, engulfed in despair,

Disgusted with the life portrayed in front of her, fully there.

Society will not accept her flaws,

Her willingness to overcome will simply disobey the laws.

How can a world, with such promise, become overwhelmingly dim,

How can a world transpire into that of a trembling tree limb.

Her tears expose her true identity,

Discontentment consumes her true entity.

Others stare,

Others glare.

She feels isolated, alone,

She has no place to call her own.

America, where have you gone,

America, why must so many experience this vulnerable phenomenon.

America the free, America the great,

America, how can this girl relate.

She closes her eyes and buries her head,

The firing of gunshots surround her homestead.

Fear, fear, fear,

Something must be done to protect her from what is near.

America, do not close your borders to this child,

America, rescue her from the exiled.

Give her love,

America, rise above.
