The Object Incognito

When asked “ what is the only thing you would take to a secluded island?” My mind traces back frantically trying to find one specific object that I indulge in habitually. Thinking of all of the materialistic items I use daily. I feel I have to bring something that will make me the safest, what will make me the most comfortable, what will keep my mind off the idea of being secluded. What will make me the happiest. This has been an ongoing question in my family for years, everytime I'm asked I feel a different object would occupy myself better from myself in such a desolate environment. The objective is to place something between your physical self and your mental state, you need an object to keep yourself sane and secure, but there is no formula, and no equation that can tell you what this object is to you. I search for a reliable item, an object that can survive in harsh regions. Requiring an object that needs no assistance and that can be independent. I spent years thinking of the most ideal item and I truly couldn't narrow it down, I couldn't figure this enigma out until recently. I spent years searching for an item when the one thing I would bring was disgusted as an idea. The one thing I would bring to a secluded island is my passion. You could bring today's most advanced technologies, you could bring a cabinet harboring a feast, bring your romantic partnering if you wish, but without passion there is no sustainability, there is no drive that pushes you to be the best individual that you can possibly evolve into. Passion is the boat we set sail into our futures and without it there is no incentive to sail through storms in our lives. Objects are just materials that burn bright and fast like a star in the night sky but eventually stars perish, but passion is an idea that can be ignited in all of us, scorching the very pit of our souls, and once it's ignited best of luck putting it out.
