Oblivion

Upon the lonely moonlit night She saw beyond the ancient grove Before her a beautiful man A beast from hell that hath arose He smiled at her, a treacherous scowl Beneath the trees he called her name He gestured with a smooth, white hand And in spite of fear, she came "Across the universe I've learned your face" He said to her with eyes like fire "I've thought of nothing else but you It's time I collect what I desire" She couldn't believe a man like this Who might not be a man at all Would want her with such abandon To take her with his beguiling call Underneath the watchful stars He touched her face with lusting hands Tearing into her weakening resolve He smiled, for it was all his plan All along his words were lies For he had loved another long ago And now he needed this woman, a vessel To bring his love back from below He led her through the darkening wood Away from the only life she knew But she was happy because of love If only she knew it wasn't true
