Oblivion

I heard

A sunset shatter

At dawn

He is gone now

But how long?

We forget more

Than we remember

I watched

Music fall

Into my lap

And splash on the floor

How many more flowers

Will wilt

Before my eyes?

How many roses now

Hang over my bed?

I stand alone on the edge

No one hears me

I scream alone in

A crowded street

No one sees me

If I fall

Off the edge of forever

And no one tastes my last words

Was I ever there

At all?
