Oblivion's Hand
Dear Oblivion,
I fear you.
I hate you.
I don’t know what to do
with your darkness.
You choke and surround
you don’t let go
and sometimes,
I wish you’d take me away.
So many forms you have:
Not knowing,
Not believing
Never ending time.
You use each face
to twist my thoughts
and make me cry.
Oh, one of these days
you’ll catch me.
Sooner, likely,
rather than later.
It doesn’t stop me
from cursing you
and wishing different.
But for now,
I spend each second
living in my world of color
until you grasp me
with your hands
that wipe away
all the pictures
I’ve tried to save
in my mind.
Yours insincerely,
The Bud of Hope
