Oblivious

Tue, 01/27/2015 - 18:24 -- dsalter

I look and I see people all around me.

Walking around, showing off their new shoes, burried in their own self greed

Without a care in the world for the person next to them.

How can we forget who our brothers are?

They are the ones who help us, who care for us, who are there for us through thick and thin, who fight for us, who would die for us.

And yet, we are still blind for

It is impossible to see clearly when all you see is yourself.

This is a true nightmare, a world where no one cares to understand one another

To learn who they are as an individual.

No one person is the same

But all we notice are the shoes beneath our feet and the clothes on our back.

What we don't realize is that with the blink of an eye

everything we know is gone.

If only we weren't so oblivious and

Just open our eyes.
