Obsessive
It feels like a heartbeat in your stomach.
An ache in your hand telling you stories,
Of why you have to move the lamp 3 inches left.
Otherwise your mother will die,
your brother will tell you he doesn't love you,
and the earth will crack under the pressure.
You shake your leg,
to make the monsters go away.
The devil can't get you,
if he can't catch up to your reeling mind.
Breathing gets harder if you don't meet your deadline.
Your appendix will explode if you don't,
touch the microwave 37 times,
take 23 steps to door,
and touch your fingers 5 times on each side.
The world will obviously end,
if you fail at your daily duties.
I know its true because,
the voice of obsession tells me so.
