Obsessive Delusion
I believed in love
presumed that this blooming feeling
heating my chest
was innocent adoration.
But your hesitant gaze
the way you shy away
and how you seek to flee
isn’t love.
It turns out that
the flowering in my heart
were vines constricting me (and you);
invasive hopes of keeping you close to me.
