Ocean Blues and Clouds Too

Down by the bank of wonder

Standing on the shore

I would look across the water

My child mind trying to make sense of things

I would find comfort in the endless ocean

And the clouds that hovered above

The tide always came back in

The clouds always shifted

They never stayed the same

Sometime when I was watching

I lost the childhood wonder

Taken from me by the sea

But I still look out across the water

And I find comfort in the waves

The summer days and sunsets

The way the clouds will forever change
