The Ocean of Fear

Fear is like the ocean.

It encloses us,

Yet it frees us.

It can carry us to new places,

Yet it can drag us to new depths.

We have to have it,

Yet we want to get rid of it.

However, like the ocean is to the earth,

Fear is a part of us,

And thus we must learn how to live with it.

Like we did with the ocean,

We must find ways to work with our fears,

Not against them.

We can be like seafarers and sail across them,

So that we can get to new places that we could have never reached without them.

We can be like sea fisher and fish within our fears,

So that we can pull up new inspiration to fuel ourselves and those around us.

Or we can be like most and admire and understand our fears from afar,

Because no matter what,

As long as we are here,

Our fears will be too.
