ocean magnetism

Your waves suck

me in,

like stars gone

supernova.

The tantalizing swells

of Charybdis spot

my shipwreck of a soul

from miles away,

eager to suck me into

its endless maw,

like the despairing men on

Odysseus' ship.

Moonlit sand

hides the worst transgressions,

the slate cleaned

with every kiss of your waves

against the shore.

My heartstrings yearn

for the crisp quietness

of your murky depths,

the pressure bruising

my skin like unwanted fingers

as I sink lower into

my absolution.

Your depth captures

us all,

each of us an

individual island,

pulled by your currents

like the strings

that move our limbs

to the beat of your

waves.
