The Ocean Screams Out Alone
The ocean screams out alone, aghast,
and lonely, lollingly rolls -
in empty dreams of the past,
in remembering evil souls.
If one can hold onto their love,
as the sea begs upon the shore,
Then romance is more than an empty thing,
and truth is more than lore.
But if ever grain falls unto the sea,
as tears upon the broken-hearted,
Then love's a lie, and so is Truth -
and we are back at where we started.
Is there more to life than this...?
The illusion of eternity
The delusion of a million dreams.
Is there more than what we see?
Or is there only you and me...
and empty
truths and broken things...
and dead toys, and diamond rings -
Pawned a thousand times
more than they're worth -
that was spoken of in truth...
that carried a little less than the false heart -
Of passion's lies, and superficial art.
More worthless than the gold that binds them...
Leaving broken souls behind them.
Artifacts of broken promises,
made from the thousand sands that follow with...
The rising waves that roll so gently...
in the storms of the tormented -
In the eyes of he and she...
That walked those shores, so blindly -
Love; that hides so cunningly in the forest,
like the beautiful lie before us -
Like the sins that pave our way...
to another lonely, weary day -
Hidden from the sweet, green flowers -
That line the Truth of knowledge,
that float so purely and inspired...
In the hearts of lovers, tired -
dreaming misty dreams so purely...
In their arms and in their loveliness -
Swearing oaths, while fleeting duty..
Defeating sin, while falling to it -
Lumbering through fields of sighs and calling...
Echoing to their fleeting spirits -
So false was their innocence, so empty their understanding.
Of things of worth, that withstanding - all of this
the entropy of a thousand sands, torn asunder
in their hands -
While they walked so blindly through it...
If this was Truth,
they never knew it.
