Ocean Turtles

The ocean waves crashing against the rocks While I sit there in the warm sand, relaxed Then there I see burrowing, a red fox And so I go to my board, freshly waxed The ocean waves nearly missing my legs As I go down to be washed up on shore Nearly crushing a nest of turtles eggs The parents live for two hundred years more Hatchlings go to and fro, drawn to the sea Not all have the strength to make it back home The hatchlings so small, everyone a beach pea This creation confused by all the foam But somehow they manage to find their place Survival is a big obstacle race...
