Ocean's Melody

She was created by God

Before Adam walked the earth

dolphins, sharks and cod

have dwelled in her since birth

Home to many specimen

whom provoke adrenaline

an adventure for many:

Emile Gagnan and Cousteau

written about by others,

even Edgar Allen Poe

Her depths are filled with secrets

Kept them well, she has

The lives she's stolen plummets

since the beginning of time has passed

She's every pigment of the rainbow

her surface is regarded as blue, though,

beneath her bosom, hues galore

corals, crabs and fish and whales

Her beauty is everywhere, take a look

follow their bubbles, leading like trails

Be still, and listen carefully

those fish are singing her song

You can hear the oceans melody

playing all day long

Her children were born knowing all the words

More beautiful, more uniform, than all those singing birds

But why is it so quiet?

It's funny that you've asked

Mankind has abused her

to toss away his trash

So what is her song about?

Listen close and you'll see

her time is beginning to run out

she's whimpering "save me"

Remember, the ocean is our friend

Her waters never change from the beginning 'til her end

nor does her gifts to meet our needs

Her waters are not a dump!

We must take care of her!

To keep our seafood plump!
