Ode To Bed

So sleepy, watching Jorge doze before The lure of bedtime takes my feverish brain Away to dreams of love, success, and more All doubts and fears go back to where they came. In dreams, I never think of failure, or Commitments—I find opportunities To help my new family find the door, Forever close the pit of poverty. I sleep, and am finally at peace No longer frazzled. All is well And he’s beside me, arms around me, all- Protecting. What a miracle befell This girl whose fears are vanquished by her bed And Jorge, knight who out of shadows lead.
