An Ode to the Class of 2016
now this speech right here isn't like the rest
it's one for the books, the best of the best
so sit down, listen up, lend me your ear
'cause it's 2016 and this is our year
it all started back in 2003
the first day of kindergarten, how crazy can it be
that after 13 years it's finally our time
we made our mark, we let our light shine
so now we're off
to bigger and better things
college, jobs,
anything the future brings
this next chapter of our lives has so much in store
we can't take it for granted, we must take advantage before
our time runs out and it's too late
we can't hold back, there's no time to wait
but don't forget to pause and reflect
on all the good times you don't wanna forget
the laughs, the tears, the crazy adventures
before you know it, we'll all be wearing dentures
these past few years were just the beginning
now's the time where we'll really be winning
this is our chance to go out and explore
to seek ourselves, do things we've never done before
before i go on there's one thing i must say
be happy in life, thank God for each day
and don't forget to thank your parents too
because if it weren't for them, you wouldn't be you
in the words of dj khaled: they don't want us to graduate
so here's the major key:
go out and be successful
and be what you wanna be
now this last one is for the lady
who raised me like she should
so i got one question:
MRS HODGE WHAT'S GOOD
