Ode To Country Life
I wake up every morning at the crack of dawn,
to the most picturesque of views.
I take in the cold, fresh air,
and a sky so crisp and blue.
A paradise of a life,
on pastures of gold and green.
Relaxed and full of simplicity,
my mind feels oh so clean.
Living way out in the middle of nowhere,
doesn’t seem like a chore.
There’s plenty of work to be done.
Oh but much more to explore.
People are so friendly,
behind the smiles that we share.
For Earth’s own Mother,
we all truly care.
My mama’s homemade peach ice cream,
on sunburnt lips I can feel.
My joys and gratitude
of the birds I show with zeal.
I head to the barn
‘cause I remember I got stuff to do.
Then I return to bed
when the day’s all through
Ode to the Country life,
the life i hold so dear.
As i drive down a backroad,
I see it oh so clear.
