The Ode of a Criminal
Because You loved me, I loved You
You reached for me, I reached back
You filled me up, I was satisfied
Because You loved me, I loved the day
You gave, I took
You were selfless, I was selfish
You comforted me, I grieved You
You forgave, I remembered
You were loyal, I questioned
You saved, I denied
You clothed me, I mocked You
Because I cursed You, You turned away
I fell, I remembered only anguish
I was filled with bitterness, I struggled within myself
I cried out for help, You listened
You opened my eyes to my ways, I wept
I desired death
You lifted me up, I wondered at this love
You wiped away my tears, should I not change my ways?
You replaced the grime with sweet melodies, I am like a child again
Because You love me, I love You
