An Ode to Dress Codes
i wore holes at a holy school, and
They wore skirts just high enough to get an idea of who They were picking through.
Bless my harlet knee caps, curse my heart i wasn't bought nor brannded
Cover a girl and it won't cover Their heart. If They want eyes devoring Them like flies
on a carcase then They will lay dead for the taking.
Because lying for Them is like taking a nap, but there i was standing in holy jeans hating
the very fiber of my being.
just above the holes were cuts and old stiches
my smile fake like the plastic knives They use to
slit Their wrists, waiting for something other then
self hate to pour out. such a holy school and they judge me... well so do i
pretty tan faces and pretty smooth legs are the image we the school love to see,
but long sleeves and pants with two holes at the knees? call me
caught because i dont want to show the legs i hate
putting us in kakki colored costumes wont change eyes from peeling us away
and won't change that we love the feeling of slipping away.
call me out? Well go ahead, but don't forget the other ones hiding in the day light
of a holie school. They will have not holes in Their clothes, but in Their hearts.
