Ode to the Fourth

I still miss your eyes

I can feel them linger

on my bones and into

my soul

Liberate my pain

make me whole

make me new all over again

You radiate love but

you disguise it with a

false sense of opportunity

an opportunity

to fall into my arms again

But you won't

you never will

and now it's my heart

that you have killed
