Ode to Happiness

happiness comes through sadness,

comes through the sunshine

on a cloudy day.

happiness is the one thing 

that we all reach for,

but sometimes can't find.

happiness can come from first kiss or

even your first love

happiness comes from your heart

somewhere deep inside

where it may hide,

but if you look hard enough

you'll find your energy source

to fight with force

for the sunshine.

we just expect happiness from the universe

yet it never gets thanked.

for everything happiness has given us,
