an ode to hate

I fell into your embrace

Turns out it was a hoax

I tried to claw out an escape

But you held my heart with ropes

I felt the heat, the burn

The struggle brought me the white light

The music feels like velvet

I can see your mood

Each time I remember your shit

I know your mind is too crude

I'm done with concern

Your hate brought me the white light

I refuse to give up

Be who you want, but I have too much love

I'm so thrilled that you took the time to read it!! Thank you for your kind words!! :)

You've got the meaning :) It's about how it's difficult to let go of people you care about, even if they are negative and toxic and don't care about you.

Correct me if I'm wrong but does your poem speak about a person who used you and you got so tired of their mess that you decided that in the end you would be better off loving someone else who didn't use your heart and your willingness to love. If it is... You deserve a round of applause for leaving someone who didn't truly care about you and the love you were giving. It takes guts to leave someone you care so much about. If I was completely off from what you were trying to tell me in the poem...please send back a reply on any of my poems and I'll read your poem again and try to interpret it. Like the poem by the way:). Keep writing on my friend.
