Ode to Him

(poems go here) I celebrate the Lord, and sing His praise, And what He teaches I shall believe, For every atom belonging to me as good belongs to Him. I pray and invite my soul, I worship and pray through the day remembering my Creator. My tongue, every cell of my being, formed from dust, in Eden, Born here of parents born here from parents the same, And their parents formed by God, I, now seventeen years old in growing faith begin, Hoping to cease not even in death.

an ode is usually three stanzas, which you have, but they also usually have ten lines per stanza. The point of an ode is to be very descriptive about something you appreciate so they are usually fairly long. Also each stanza is suppose to have the same amount of lines with some sort of rhyming and or beat format. For example: iambic pentameter goes soft syllable, hard syllable, soft syllable, hard syllable or daDum daDum. This is not meant to discourage you and your poem is good but I wouldn't call it an ode necessarily.
