Ode to Hurting Soul

Waves of unstoppable pain

rupturing the hardened walls

crushing them into dust

Rushing, tearing

flooding the cavern.

Empty of necessary love,

Full of

the cold waters of loneliness.

Feelings swirling

like a whirlpool.

Unbearable hurt rising

like steam from a waterfall,

where hopes crash at the bottom.

Dreams dashed on

the jagged rocks of hate

and ruthless rancor,

snaking furiously

in little piercing shards

through the tunnel of

dark demise.

Screaming like banshees

throught the cavern.

Trying in despair

to let the demons go,

to purge the curse.

Fear takes over

once more

telling me,

that letting go

will make me

lose it all.

Patch the stones back together,

waves of doubt are

now still waters of delusion,

saying that

 all is fine:

no intimacy is needed

for the sake of an

already scarred heart's

safety.
