Ode to Jose Cuervo Gold
The only thing worse than a broken heart is an empty tequila bottle.
“O don’t quiteth on me noweth!”
Said once, the Great Aristotle.
Or maybe that was Little Lenny with the Lisp,
Oh well who cares, “just fill my glass,” so crisp.
Life isn’t bad but you make it better.
Every time: whiskey or tequila
And every time I’ll choose the latter.
O Mr. Cuervo you know me so well
You could never get old,
Even though I am but a simple shell,
Every now and then you fill me with pure Gold.
But tonight, Oh tonight
You’ve forced my hand.
I hate to do it because I know it’s not right.
But tonight I’m forced to take a stand.
You’ve come up short, and I’m sorry to say
But you’ve been outlasted
Today was that day.
So into the cupboard is where I will seek,
The one who will finish the job,
The one who will strengthen the rest of the weak.
However, I now have two broken hearts instead of just one
So thank you Mr. Jose Cuervo, my sweet late night tea.
Thank you for proving that when all is said and done
I’m still by myself
And you will still be empty.
