Ode to a Lost Love One

Mom I never knew you

I wish I could travel back in time

So I wouldn't be so blue

I can't remember what you said at nighttime

I know it was Gods choice

He needed you for something bigger

He knew I would be okay without you

I know you are in the sky above

I don't know the sound of your voice

Did we play peekaboo

I think about you constantly

Dad doesn't talk about you much

And one day it just hit me

You were really gone

I wish I could feel your touch

I wish we could go shopping

Did you and dad kiss me good night?

Did you wake up at dawn?

Will we reunite?

Did I get my talents from you mom?

I wish I knew more about you

Like were you smart?

What was your favorite hairstyle?

Did you like art?

Were you good at math?

Could you sing?

Did you stand in the rain?

Did you love reading?

Did you love spring?

Were you a good actress?

I have dads eyes

Dad says my group of friends is just like yours were

Dad said I got your attitude

I got your temper

And some people say they see a little of you in me

I will always remember that you love me

And that we will be together again someday
