Ode To Marching Band

Marching band is fierce and competitive You get a sense of pride and victory when you win a competition But also feel a sense of depression and of letting your band down When you lose one When you arrive at the competition you can Feel the ground shake because of the other bands preparing their show You can hear the shouting of the band director barking out commands to perfect their show After you play your show and await your rating Your heart is racing and you can’t stand to wait any longer You are crossing your fingers in hope of a great rating When they announce your band you are dead silent and frozen like ice Marching band is thrilling and awarding You are sad when the season is over But you reminisce the good memories that you shared To help you through the off-season
